A damning and deeply troubling revelation has emerged that exposes a calculated, mercenary plot to plunge Oyo State back into the abyss of violence, chaos, and lawlessness that Governor Seyi Makinde has painstakingly eradicated over the past seven years of exemplary, corruption-free, and people-centered governance.

Credible intelligence and multiple news outlets now confirm that Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, once a supposed statesman but now reduced to a willing pawn in external vendettas, has shamelessly collected massive financial inducements described by sources as “huge bags of money” directly from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, the notorious man whose fingerprints are all over political instability in the present day Nigeria.

The explicit mandate: destabilize Oyo State, sabotage Governor Makinde’s unmatched legacy of peace, infrastructure boom, security gains, and economic progress, and manufacture artificial crises to paint the state as ungovernable.

Gbolarumi, who has openly aligned himself with Wike-led splinter group within the PDP, attending clandestine meetings in Abuja and positioning himself as a coordinator for the terror group in Oyo state, is allegedly spearheading the dirty work on the ground.

In brazen collaboration with Diran Odeyemi, a figure long notorious for inflammatory propaganda, divisive tactics, and a history entangled with political thuggery, Gbolarumi is said to be actively mobilizing thugs, hoodlums, and paid agitators to trigger unrests, disrupt public order, incite violence at gatherings, and create scenes of brigandage that would embarrass the state and its leadership.

This unholy trinity: Gbolarumi as the local executor, Odeyemi as the mouthpiece of discord, and Wike as the financier pulling strings from afar, represents the worst form of political instability: selling out the peace and future of an entire state for personal gain, and external ambition.

Wike, already widely accused of meddling destructively in PDP affairs across the federation to pursue narrow interests and grudges, has reportedly funneled resources to Gbolarumi precisely because he sees Oyo’s stability under Makinde as an affront to his style of godfatherism and control.

For seven years, Oyo State has enjoyed unprecedented tranquility, no godfather-induced bloodshed, no sponsored thugs terrorizing communities, massive road networks, urban renewal, improved healthcare, education reforms, and investor confidence.

Governor Makinde has delivered dividends of democracy without resorting to intimidation, or violence. Yet, desperate and discredited elements, unable to compete on records or ideas, have resorted to importing the very brigandage and mercenary politics that the people of Oyo decisively rejected.

Gbolarumi’s betrayal is particularly galling: a former deputy governor now allegedly reduced to a hired destabilizer, willing to unleash hoodlums on the same citizens he once swore to serve.

Odeyemi, with his track record of shifting allegiances and inflammatory rhetoric, adds fuel to the fire of division. And Wike? His pattern of funding chaos to undermine democracy is becoming a huge national scandal, sacrificing party unity and public peace on the altar of ego and power games.

Political watchers and stakeholders warn that this sinister scheme is a direct assault on democracy itself.

“Any individual or group, no matter how highly placed, who collects blood money to mobilize thugs and foment unrest in Oyo State is an enemy of the people,” one local observer declared. “Governor Makinde has built peace with integrity; these agents of destruction are nothing but an embarrassment.”
