The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has extended heartfelt greetings to Christian faithful across the local government as they commence the sacred season of Lent.
In a goodwill message released to mark the beginning of the solemn period, Hon. Olufade described Lent as a powerful season of spiritual reflection, sacrifice, repentance and renewed commitment to God and humanity.

He urged Christians in Ibadan North to embrace the forty-day journey with sincerity of heart, steadfast faith and acts of compassion toward one another.
According to the Chairman, Lent is not only a time of fasting and prayer but also a season that calls for deeper love, forgiveness and unity within families and communities.

“Lent reminds us of the virtues of humility, selflessness and obedience.
As our Christian brothers and sisters begin this sacred observance, I encourage them to draw closer to God, pray for our community and extend hands of kindness to the vulnerable around us,” Hon. Olufade stated.
He emphasized that the lessons of Lent, discipline, sacrifice and service align strongly with the principles of good governance and responsible leadership.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive development, peaceful coexistence and people-oriented initiatives that uplift every ward in Ibadan North.
Hon. Olufade further called on religious leaders to continue fostering messages of peace, hope and harmony, noting that Ibadan North remains a shining example of religious tolerance and unity.
He prayed that the Lenten season would usher in spiritual renewal, divine favor and lasting progress for individuals, families and the entire local government.
