As Christians embark on Lent 2026 and Muslims observe Ramadan 1447AH, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Oyo State on Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, has extended warm greetings to the good people of Oyo State, particularly residents of Ibadan South West Local Government.

In his goodwill message commemorating the sacred seasons, Hon. Akinsete described Lent and Ramadan as profound periods of spiritual renewal, self-discipline, sacrifice, and deeper devotion to God.

He noted that although observed by different faiths, both seasons reflect shared values of prayer, fasting, charity, humility, and compassion for the less privileged.
According to him, the concurrent observance of Lent and Ramadan this year presents a unique opportunity for strengthened interfaith harmony and collective commitment to peace and development.
“These sacred seasons remind us that beyond our religious differences, we are united by common values of love, sacrifice, and service to humanity.
Let us use this period to build stronger communities, extend hands of fellowship, and support those in need,” he stated.
Hon. Akinsete urged residents to embrace the virtues of patience, generosity, forgiveness, and tolerance, stressing that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity and mutual respect.
He also offered prayers for the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, asking God to grant him continued wisdom, strength, and divine direction in steering the affairs of the state toward greater prosperity.
The Special Adviser further prayed for peace, stability, and economic progress across Oyo State and Nigeria, expressing hope that the spiritual exercises of Lent and Ramadan would usher in renewed hope, healing, and collective advancement.
Hon. Akinsete Olakunle reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to supporting the developmental vision of the Makinde-led administration, particularly in the areas of housing and urban renewal, while encouraging citizens to remain steadfast in faith and optimistic about the future.
He wished all Christian and Muslim faithful a spiritually fulfilling Lent and Ramadan.
