







The Oyo State Government through the State Agency for Youth Development, has announced a free public viewing of today’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Semi-final matches, Egypt vs Senegal, and Nigeria vs Morocco as part of its ongoing efforts to promote unity, youth engagement, and collective recreation among residents of the state.
The initiative, which is open to football lovers across Ibadan and its environs, will provide fans with a relaxed and secure environment to watch the continental showdown live, while enjoying a festive atmosphere organised by the state government, with third-place and final inclusive.
Fans and the audience will enjoy African football at the popular Racecourse, Adamasingba Stadium Ibadan.
While speaking, the Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana applauded the executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for giving the Pacesetter youth free viewing of AFCON matches.




He reiterated that in addition to the free viewing experience, gift items will be distributed to fans in attendance, a gesture aimed at rewarding supporters and adding excitement to the event.
He stated that the gifts will be given out through transparent and orderly arrangements to ensure fairness.
Adebowale further noted that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to using sports as a tool for social cohesion, youth inclusion, and positive civic engagement, while also easing the financial burden on fans who may otherwise be unable to access paid viewing centres.
Residents have been encouraged to come out in large numbers, observe laid-down guidelines, and cheer the Super Eagles as the state joins millions of Nigerians in supporting the national team’s quest for continental glory.
