The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadan, Alhaji Ali Dahiru Zungeru, describing his death as a painful loss not only to the Hausa community but to Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole.

Hon. Olufade, in a statement issued through his head of media, Aderibigbe Yisahu on Tuesday, commiserated with the Hausa community in Ibadan North Local Government, Ibadanland, and Oyo State at large, noting that the late Sarkin Hausawa was a bridge-builder whose leadership fostered peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic and religious groups.

According to the council boss, Alhaji Zungeru was a respected traditional leader who devoted his life to promoting unity, harmony, and mutual understanding, particularly within Ibadan North, where the Hausa community plays a significant role in commerce, security, and social development.

Hon. Olufade also extended heartfelt condolences to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the immediate family of the deceased, and the entire Hausa traditional institution, stressing that the late Sarkin Hausawa lived a fulfilled life marked by service, humility, and commitment to peace.

 


 

 

“Alhaji Ali Dahiru Zungeru was a father to many, a stabilizing force, and a dependable community leader whose counsel and leadership will be greatly missed,” Olufade said.

“His legacy of peace and unity will continue to inspire us.”

The Ibadan North Local Government Chairman prayed that Almighty Allah grants the soul of the departed eternal rest and gives the Hausa community, the royal institution, and the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
