Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has said his administration will remain steadfast in delivering infrastructure that supports his administration’s vision of expanding the economy of the state lifting its people from poverty to prosperity.
The governor, who stated that he has been governing the state with the fear of God, knowing that he has no godfather except God, the father, said the government will remain committed to serving the people till his last day in office.
Governor Makinde stated this on Monday, during a courtesy visit paid to his office by a delegation of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), led by the Continental Overseer, Pastor Adeola Mensah.

The governor maintained that his promise to focus on building inner roads after connecting all the zones of the state in his first term in office remains on course.
He stated that the government has already approved the contracts for the construction of road facilities within the Oluyole Industrial Estate.
The governor, who noted that his administration remains dedicated to continuity of government policies, assured that the project will be completed before long.
This was as he called on the body of Christ to continue to intercede for the state and the nation, as according to him, spiritual support remains imperative for the peace, progress, and development of the country.
He said: “Let me, on behalf of the government and the people of Oyo State, welcome you to the seat of the state government. I understand that the Continental Headquarters will be here in Ibadan. So we’ll be seeing more of you and the team.
“As I always say, this is an administration that came into being without any godfather. So, for us, what has sustained us has been the prayers of our fathers of faith in Oyo state.
“So, please continue to remember us in your prayers, continue to remember our country in your prayers too.
“We always say to people, sometimes we think, oh, what is happening elsewhere is far removed from us. But in reality, it is not. So, we need sustained prayer to assist this country.
“Now, let me also say this. As you prepare to settle into the Continental Headquarters, whatever we can do, whatever I can do personally, I will be ready and willing to support.”
While responding to Pastor Mensah’s solicitation for the state government to attend to roads around Oluyole Industrial Estate like the way it has fixed most intra-city roads in Ibadan, Governor Makinde said the project has been approved and that the government will see to its completion, as his administration doesn’t want to leave behind abandoned projects.
“On the road you mentioned, I believe we just awarded the road. Yes, we have awarded it. Let me also say this, our resources are also limited, so we have to basically commit one project at a time, because what we try to avoid as an administration is having projects liter all the place without completing them.
“I just challenge people that in this administration, if you see any project that we have committed to and then abandon, please bring it to my notice. It is not possible, because we are methodical. Before we commit to a project, we already think through to the end of that project.
So, this project has been awarded, and we will ensure that it is completed,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Pastor Mensah commended the governor for his developmental strides and conveyed the warm regards and goodwill of the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, assuring the governor of the church’s sustained prayers and support for his administration.
She said: “I bring you greetings, first of all, in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and also from our beloved Father in the Lord, Pastor E.A. Adeboye.
“He has specifically asked us to convey his prayers, his support, and his appreciation of the wonderful work that you have been doing in Oyo State, and also engaging the people and making sure that Oyo State is thriving under your watch.
“He has asked us to let you know that in view of all that you are doing, he’s very sure that Oyo State is going to the very top.
“We have noticed that all over Ibadan, the roads are good, they are wonderful, the people are blessed, and things are thriving.”
