At the grand launch of two new books, “The Hegemony” and “Giant Strides,” alongside the premiere of the historical film “Agbeni: Chronicles of Ancestor,” the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke FCA, distinguished himself as the highest donor of the day with a remarkable contribution of ₦20,000,000.00.

The event, organized in honour of His Royal Majesty, Kabiyesi Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, the Balogun of Ibadanland, witnessed an impressive display of cultural prestige, intellectual engagement, and communal support.

The high-profile event, held on November 27, 2025 at the Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, opposite the UCH Main Gate, drew eminent personalities from across Ibadanland and beyond.

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, who served as the Chief Launcher, also supported the project with a donation of ₦10,000,000.00, applauding the cultural and historical value of the books and the film.

 


 

 

The Royal Father of the Day, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa 1), led an impressive assembly of traditional authority which included all Obas, Chiefs, and Baales in Ibadanland, alongside other prominent traditional rulers and political dignitaries.

The Chairman of the Day, Oloye Gboyega Adegoke FCA, commended the authors and organizers for preserving the heritage of Ibadanland through literary and cinematic works, noting that such initiatives contribute to the documentation of Yoruba history for future generations.

The event was celebrated as not only a cultural milestone but also a demonstration of unity and support among Ibadan’s traditional and political leadership.
