




The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide, has been conferred with the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), the highest professional honour in Nigeria’s ICT sector.

The ceremony held today, at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, during the 2025 edition of the Nigeria Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA), an annual gathering that brings together leading innovators, policymakers and technology stakeholders in celebration of excellence across the nation’s digital landscape.
The event, attended by top industry figures, professional bodies, government officials and global ICT partners, featured the formal elevation of distinguished professionals whose contributions have significantly shaped the country’s digital and technological growth.
Speaking on the recognition, Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the lawmaker, said the approval of Hon. Olajide’s elevation to the elite College of Fellows followed a rigorous consideration by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Computer Society.
He explained that the council acknowledged the lawmaker’s outstanding contributions to digital development, legislative advancement and national cybersecurity policy reforms.

Mustapha noted that the NEC, under the leadership of the NCS President, Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, described the fellowship conferment as a recognition of Hon. Olajide’s distinguished service, professional excellence and sustained commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
According to him, the lawmaker’s active legislative engagements and policy contributions continue to strengthen the nation’s ICT institutions and digital economy.
He further stated that Hon. Olajide, who represents Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state, has earned recognition both nationally and internationally for driving key legislative interventions aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s cybersecurity framework, expanding digital literacy, enhancing ICT sector governance and promoting innovation driven economic growth.
His leadership of the House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity has been pivotal in shaping reforms essential to Nigeria’s emerging digital future.
The NITMA 2025 ceremony is an annual event, which features merit awards, special recognition and industry honours for organizations and individuals shaping Nigeria’s technology ecosystem.
