 
                



The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party in the Oke Ogun zone held its zonal meeting on Thursday at L.A. Demonstration Primary School, Oluwole, Iseyin, as part of the mobilisation efforts toward the 2027 general elections and to further sensitise and educate the uniformed and the misinformed about the party’s position.
The event, which recorded a massive turnout of party stakeholders, leaders, and members from all wards across the ten local government areas of the Oke Ogun political zone.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement, solidarity, and renewed political commitment as participants charted new strategies for strengthening the party’s grassroots influence ahead of the 2027 polls.
While speaking at the event, the Oyo State Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal said Engr Seyi Makinde and the People’s Democratic Party have been fair to the people of Oke Ogun and the defection of the few people who recently resigned their memberships of the Party will not stop the Party from coasting home to victory in subsequent elections.


 
 
Speaking at the event, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha said the foundation of the People’s Democratic Party in Oke Ogun zone remains solid and unshakable. He enjoined all party faithful to disregard the vituperation of the few frustrated people who saw themselves as lords of the majority, but when they could no longer have their way, they became jittery.
Amongst the notable figures present at the event were the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal; Barrister Adeniyi Farinto, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, the State Party Chairman, Hon. Ogungbenro; Hon. Bisi Rasaq Fadiran, the Executive Chairman of Iseyin local government; Hon. Shina Peller, Hon. Shina Oyedeji Abayomi, Hon. Dele Adeola, Hon. Niyi Adebisi, Hon Ayo Olopoenia Olowosoke, Chief Aare Adekunle Tanwa, Hon. Ajibola Raheem, Supervisory Councillors, Vice Chairmen, Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries and a host of others.
While addressing the large crowd, Hon. Shina Peller reaffirmed his dedication to the service of the people and his belief in purposeful leadership. In his words:
“My commitment to the people of Oyo North remains unwavering. I stand here not just as a politician, but as a son of this soil who believes that together we can build a stronger Oke Ogun. Our people deserve leadership that listens, leadership that acts, and leadership that truly represents their hopes and struggles. I am ready to serve with honesty, courage, and commitment to the growth of our land.”
He urged members of the PDP to remain united and resolute as the 2027 elections draw nearer, emphasising that victory can only be achieved through collective effort and grassroots mobilisation.
The Chairman of the Oyo State PDP, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, commended the Party members for trooping out in their large numbers for the meeting at the short notice. He noted that the party will continue to protect their interests and consider them first.
The Party leaders, representatives, and women groups reaffirmed and pledged their loyalty and commitment to the PDP’s vision of restoring good governance and strengthening democratic structures across Oyo State.
The rally ended with renewed zeal for unity and a sense of purpose, as it renewed the confidence of the Party members that the People’s Democratic Party will achieve great success in the 2027 general elections.
