In his unwavering commitment to building a cleaner, healthier, and more economically vibrant Sabo community, the Councilor representing Ward 6 in Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Fairah, has once again demonstrated exemplary leadership through his environmental sustainability initiative — Operation Keep Sabo Clean.

As part of the ongoing campaign, Hon. Fairah partnered with the Faculty of Public Health, Department of Health Promotion and Education, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, to organize a comprehensive community sensitization program on waste management, recycling, and turning waste into wealth.

The collaborative effort featured a house-to-house awareness campaign, where Hon. Fairah and his team, alongside the university partners, engaged residents directly on the importance of proper waste disposal and the economic opportunities in recycling.

They emphasized how indiscriminate dumping of waste into drainage channels can lead to blocked sewage systems and devastating floods, while encouraging households to embrace innovative ways of converting waste materials into useful and profitable products.

Speaking during the sensitization exercise, Hon. Fairah expressed profound appreciation to the university team for partnering with his Operation Keep Sabo Clean initiative, describing it as a “community-based environmental movement aimed at transforming Sabo into a model of cleanliness and environmental responsibility.”

He urged residents across Ward 6 to desist from the indiscriminate disposal of plastics, nylons, and disposable materials, stressing that these items can be recycled and turned into sources of income rather than pollutants.

“Our goal is to make Sabo cleaner, safer, and more developed. Keeping our environment clean is not just a civic duty; it is an economic opportunity that can empower our people,” Hon. Fairah stated.

He also assured the people of Ward 6 of his continued qualitative representation, reaffirming his dedication to initiatives that will promote public health, economic empowerment, and sustainable development.

Hon. Fairah further thanked his team for their steadfast support and commitment, noting that their collective effort continues to make Operation Keep Sabo Clean a success story in Ibadan North Local Government.
