The vibrant Offa town in Kwara State came alive with spiritual fervor on Saturday as Otunba Seye Famojuro, a prominent figure and close ally of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, graced the Annual Moulid Nabbiy organized by the revered Imam Offa, Sheikh Muhyiddin Salman.

 




 

The event which was a cherished celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), drew thousands of worshippers, dignitaries, and community leaders, uniting them in prayers, reflection, and gratitude.

The highlight of the occasion was a heartfelt special prayer offered by Sheikh Muhyiddin Salman, the Chief Imam of Offa, for the continued success and divine guidance of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Addressing the congregation, the revered cleric lauded the governor’s exemplary leadership and commitment to fostering religious harmony and development in Oyo State.

“Governor Seyi Makinde is doing a great job for the people of Oyo state, for Islam, and for humanity at large,” Sheikh Salman declared, his words resonating with the faithfuls gathered at the event.

“His efforts in promoting peace, unity, and progress are evident, and we pray for Allah’s guidance and strength to sustain him in all his noble endeavors.”

Famojuro who in turn expressed his deepest gratitude for the prayers and warm reception— mingled with attendees, exchanging pleasantries and reaffirming that the Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde holds the religious community in high esteem and remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote peace and spiritual growth,” Famojuro said.

“We are grateful for the prayers and goodwill of the people of Offa and for the rare leadership of Sheikh Muhyiddin Salman.”

At the height of the event, Famojuro also extended heartfelt congratulations to Mogaji Karheem Adanla on his new religious conferment as the ‘Giwa Adini of Offa Land,’ commending his dedication to the Islamic community and the honor bestowed upon him.

The Moulid Nabbiy, a significant event in Offa’s cultural and religious calendar, featured soul-stirring recitations of the Qur’an, lectures on the Prophet’s life, and communal prayers.

The atmosphere was electric, with attendees from across Kwara State and beyond joining in the celebration of faith and unity.

The event also showcased the rich cultural heritage of Offa, with colorful displays and heartfelt expressions of devotion.

Sheikh Salman’s prayer for Governor Makinde underscored the governor’s impactful tenure, marked by transformative projects and policies that have bolstered Oyo State’s development.

From infrastructure upgrades to educational reforms and interfaith initiatives, Makinde’s administration has earned accolades for its inclusive approach, resonating with religious leaders like Imam Offa.
