A respected social critic, Biodun Adekola, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the role his good governance played in beautifying the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I.
Adekola noted that the colourful ceremony was not only a celebration of Ibadan’s rich tradition but also a showcase of the governor’s transformational leadership.
He explained that key projects under Makinde’s administration contributed to the success of the event, pointing to the upgraded Ibadan Airport, which eased the arrival of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the smooth, motorable roads enjoyed by Jagaban and other dignitaries.
He further highlighted the iconic Lekan Salami Stadium, which recently hosted the U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier where Nigeria defeated Rwanda 4-0, as another symbol of the governor’s visionary leadership that added glamour to the historic occasion.
Adekola described the blend of tradition and modernity on display as a reflection of Governor Makinde’s enduring commitment to peace, progress, and development in Oyo State.
