
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibarapa Central Local Government on Saturday held its local congress at the Council Secretariat where Hon. Gbade Akinlolu was returned as the Party Chairman alongside other newly elected executives.
The entire process was anchored by Hon. Fakorede, who coordinated the exercise with fairness and transparency.
As the names of the new executives were announced one after the other, the Secretariat erupted with resounding chants of “YES” from party faithful , a clear reflection of overwhelming approval, unity and renewed commitment within the PDP family.
The congress was supervised by INEC officials and witnessed the presence of all security agencies, ensuring due process, order and credibility.
In his goodwill address, Elder Kolawole reminded members that “the PDP is one big family”, charging the newly elected executives to be good ambassadors of the party and to remain steadfast in delivering victory at all levels.
Also speaking, Hon. Okedigba charged the new executives to justify the confidence reposed in them and applauded members for their peaceful conduct throughout the congress.
Similarly, Chief Mrs. Olubosede commended the successful exercise, describing it as a model of peace, unity, and internal democracy, while urging the new team to work diligently to strengthen the party’s grassroots appeal.
Addressing the gathering, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke, congratulated the newly elected party executives and tasked them with the responsibility of upholding loyalty, discipline and unity.
He urged them to redouble their efforts in mobilizing support for the PDP, assuring them of his continuous support in building a stronger party for the future.
In a separate remark, the newly elected Youth Leader, Mr. Adeniran Muyiwa, expressed deep appreciation to party members and leaders for the trust and confidence bestowed upon them.
He vowed, on behalf of the new executives, never to betray that trust but to work tirelessly in taking the party to the “land of promise.”
The congress, attended by Inec officials ,all security agencies, stakeholders, party faithful and leaders across all wards ended on a joyful note with members reaffirming their readiness to continue building the PDP as a united and formidable political force in Ibarapa Central.
