The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, has hailed the appointment of Senator Monsurat Sunmonu as a member of the 2025 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Planning Committee, describing her as “Aduke, the game changer” and a beacon of inclusive leadership.
In a statement released, personally signed and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Friday, Hon. Oyekola congratulated Senator Sunmonu on the prestigious appointment, emphasizing her unwavering commitment to democratic values, party unity, and grassroots engagement.
He noted that her inclusion in the high-powered committee is not only well-deserved but also a strategic move by the PDP to reinforce credible leadership within its ranks.
“Senator Monsurat Sunmonu has always demonstrated an exceptional blend of experience, integrity, and progressive vision,” Oyekola stated.
He said, “Her track record as a former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and distinguished Senator speaks volumes of her competence and dedication.
‘Aduke’ is indeed a game changer whose influence will positively shape the direction of our great party.”
Hon. Oyekola expressed confidence that Senator Sunmonu’s role in the Convention Planning Committee would bring about effective coordination, transparency, and a renewed sense of unity among party stakeholders ahead of the 2025 general elections.
He further urged party faithful across the state and the country to rally behind the committee and support its efforts in organizing a credible, forward-looking convention that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians.
Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, widely respected for her calm but firm leadership style, was one of several notable figures named to the PDP Convention Committee earlier this week. Her appointment has been met with widespread commendation, particularly from her home state of Oyo, where she continues to command significant influence.
