What happened yesterday under the guise of an APC campaign was nothing short of a Fuji Fiesta in disguise.
Instead of presenting their manifesto and engaging the people with tangible plans, they turned the rally into a musical carnival, importing 4 to 5 big-name musicians, with Fuji star Pasuma leading the playlist, just to gather a crowd.
It’s understandable though. APC is fully aware that their candidate alone cannot pull the numbers.
They know the genuine enthusiasm of the people is absent, so the only way to create a semblance of support is to rent a crowd, mobilized from different local governments, lured by the beats of famous artistes rather than the vision of a credible leader.

But here’s the bitter truth they need to note: on August 16, there will be no music stage, no free concert, no Pasuma on the mic to dance voters into the polling booth.
That day, the people will speak with their thumbs, not their dance steps.
The same crowd they paraded today will be nowhere to be found when it matters most, because political destiny is not decided on a concert stage.
So, dear APC, enjoy your Fuji Fiesta while it lasts.
But remember, election day is not a music show, and the people’s mandate cannot be auto-tuned.
