In a celebration steeped in prestige, heritage, and profound cultural significance, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Oyo State on Housing and Urban Development, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and his amiable wife, Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, on their recent installation as the Aare Omoluabi* and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom.

The illustrious titles were bestowed upon the First Couple by the Deji of Akure, His Royal Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, during a grand investiture ceremony at the ancient Deji’s Palace on Friday, July 18, 2025.

The event drew the presence of distinguished monarchs, political leaders, statesmen, and cultural icons from across Yorubaland and beyond, further affirming the towering influence and esteem of the Makindes.

Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, in a personally signed congratulatory statement, described the honour as “a richly deserved affirmation of the values, virtues, and visionary leadership that Governor Makinde and his wife personify.”

“The conferment of Aare and Yeye Aare Omoluabi upon Governor Makinde and Her Excellency, our First Lady, is more than a ceremonial accolade, it is a cultural seal of excellence, honour, and moral distinction,” Hon. Akinsete declared.

He lauded Governor Makinde as a symbol of progressive governance and an exemplar of the true Omoluabi spirit, one defined by integrity, humility, accountability, and compassion for the people.

“Governor Makinde is a man of immense wisdom whose leadership continues to redefine what it means to serve with purpose and principle.

His commitment to justice, infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment has made Oyo State a beacon of development across Nigeria,” he added.

Turning his tribute to the First Lady, Hon. Akinsete praised Engr. Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde for her quiet strength, elegance, and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service.

“Her Excellency is a rare gem, an inspiration to women and families, and a voice of hope for the vulnerable.

Her compassionate interventions in maternal health, girl-child advocacy, and social inclusion are the very embodiment of Yeye Aare Omoluabi,” he stated.

Hon. Akinsete further noted that the joint honour reflects the deep synergy between the Governor and his wife, a partnership anchored in mutual respect, shared values, and a joint mission of public service.

“This is a proud moment for the people of Oyo State.

The Makindes have once again reminded us that leadership is not just about power, but about purpose, humility, and impact.

May their new titles usher in greater grace and wisdom as they continue to serve humanity with distinction,” he concluded.

The installation of the Makindes as Aare and Yeye Aare Omoluabi of Akure Kingdom stands as a cultural endorsement of their sterling qualities.

It is a celebration not only for Oyo State but for the entire Yoruba nation, one that honours character above titles and service above self.
