The Youth Leader and Acting Publicity Secretary of the Oyo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ogunsina, has challenged the opposition parties to present their best candidates in the upcoming by-election scheduled for August 16th in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

Recall that on Saturday, July 4th, the party’s leadership in Ibadan North and stakeholders presented a consensus candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (Don), who will be bearing the party’s flag in the August 16th by-election.

Hon. Folajimi, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and the immediate past Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, was selected among other aspirants due to his experience, exposure, and acceptability, among other factors that stood him out.

While addressing newsmen after a crowded local government meeting of the party in Ibadan, Ogunsina berated the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their lack of preparedness and inability to choose a capable candidate to represent the party in the forthcoming contest.
He stated, “Despite having ample time to prepare since the seat was declared vacant, the APC still couldn’t put themselves in order to choose a candidate. In contrast, our choice of Hon. Folajimi was swift because we’re prepared. We understand that at this point in time, we don’t require someone who would need to start from scratch in the National Assembly.”

Ogunsina further emphasized that Hon. Folajimi’s legislative experience would enable him to deliver quality representation within the available time. He added that Hon. Folajimi is a good student of the Seyi Makinde school of governance, where delivery is a must.

The PDP youth leader therefore urged party members to begin canvassing and mobilizing support across the length and breadth of Ibadan North to deliver victory in the contest. He expressed confidence in Hon. Folajimi’s ability to hit the ground running and provide effective representation for the constituency.
