I find it most humbling to join the people of Oyo State and beyond to reflect on the 5th anniversary of the passing of our beloved former Governor, Sen. Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi.

His tenure was a golden era for our state, marked by remarkable progress and visionary leadership.
He dedicated his time to improving infrastructure, boosting education and healthcare, – Sen. Ajimobi transformed Oyo State with bold projects that still stand as reflection to his dedication.
His ability to lead with purpose and deliver lasting change made his eight years in office a period of pride for us all, a feat that saw him become the first governor in our history to serve two full terms.
Sen. Ajimobi was a man of exceptional character—warm, wise, and deeply committed to his people.
His personality shone with a rare blend of strength and kindness, earning him respect and love across communities.
Yet, he was known for his principled and frank approach to issues, a strength that sometimes stirred disagreement among those who found his directness challenging.
I see this as a mark of his integrity, a quality that shaped his decisions and kept him focused on what was right for Oyo State, even when it wasn’t easy.
His honesty and clarity remain lessons for us today.
I find immense wisdom in his time and leadership style, which continues to guide me as a role model in governance and development.
Sen. Ajimobi’s achievements and widespread acceptance across political lines secured his remarkable eight-year tenure, a milestone that speaks volumes of his impact.
Even now, he has many foot soldiers—dedicated individuals who look up to his legacy, drawing inspiration from his example to serve with the same passion.
His influence lives on, motivating upcoming politicians and lovers of good governance to prioritise the people’s needs above all else.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Ajimobi family, led by the Patriarch, Dr. Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, for their strength in keeping his legacies alive with grace and determination.
I also appreciate all members of the APC in Oyo State and across Nigeria for their consistent efforts to honour his memory through events and tributes.
Special recognition goes to Hon. Idris Ajimobi, the former governor’s son, who upholds his father’s name with distinction as a Special Adviser to the President, setting a fine example of integrity and service. Their collective efforts ensure Sen. Ajimobi’s vision endures.
Sen. Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi will forever remain an inspiration to those who seek to truly serve the people and champion good governance.
His spirit lives on in the hearts of Oyo State’s people and can never be forgotten.
On this solemn day, I pay my humble homage to the Ajimobi family, the good people of Oyo State, and the friends and global admirers of the “Ko sele ri of Oyo State.”
May his soul continue to rest in peace, and may his legacy guide us toward a more prosperous future for our state.
