The Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland and Chairman of Solutions 93.9 FM, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, FCA, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of two eminent personalities from Ibadanland — Ambassador Ibironke Adefope and Chief (Alhaji) Lamidi Ajadi.
Oloye Adegoke described the passing of Ambassador Adefope, a former Nigerian High Commissioner to Zambia and Malawi, as a great loss to the diplomatic and intellectual community. He praised her contributions to Nigeria’s foreign service and her exemplary representation of the nation abroad.
“She was a trailblazer, a patriotic Nigerian whose service to the nation and unwavering commitment to diplomacy set a standard for generations to come. Her demise is a significant loss not only to Ibadan but to Nigeria as a whole,” Adegoke noted.
Equally, the Aare mourned the loss of Chief Lamidi Ajadi, a respected businessman, elder statesman, and prominent figure in the Muslim community of Ibadan and its environs. He extolled Chief Ajadi’s virtues, describing him as a man of integrity, generosity, and deep faith who used his influence to uplift others.
“Chief Lamidi Ajadi was a beacon of wisdom and leadership within the Muslim community. His contributions to commerce and community development are immeasurable, and his absence will be sorely felt across Ibadanland,” he said.
Oloye Adegoke offered his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the people of Ibadanland, and all those affected by these painful losses.
“May Almighty Allah grant them Aljanat Firdaus and comfort their families during this difficult time,” he concluded.
