

The Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Prince Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for its remarkable achievements in promoting youth development and inclusive governance in the state.
In a statement released and made available to newsmen by the Head of the Media Unit to the Chairman, Opeyemi Rasheed Olawale, Prince Adebowale applauded the Governor on the Sixth anniversary of his administration towards his commitment to empowering young people and providing opportunities for them to contribute to the state’s growth and development.
Adebowale acknowledged that Governor Makinde’s leadership has been exemplary, and his dedication to youth inclusion in governance is unparalleled.
He said “We have witnessed significant strides in youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development, which have transformed the lives of young people in Oyo State.
Several initiatives benefitting the youth in Pacesetter State include;
Digital skills training for 5,000 youth aged 18-40 years on digital marketing, Amazon Kindle publishing, web designing, and leveraging artificial intelligence.
YEAP—Youth Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness Projects, no fewer than 3,300 youth entrepreneurs were trained in Agribusiness skills in Nasarawa by CSS Farm through OYSADA. Another set was recently trained while the process of getting a loan by YEAP-OYSADA is ongoing. This has created a new generation of Agropreneurs in laying the foundation for food security as well as youth employment.
Also, the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde trained 100 In-school Youth were facilitators offered participants a hands-on session in web development, digital marketing essentials, graphics design, Adobe age maker as well as building artificial intelligence as each participant was eager to harness the power of technology, innovative and creativity.
No fewer than 5,610 debit cards was presented to the youth under the public works beneficiaries across the 33 local government areas in the state through Agency for Youth Development OYS-CARES LIPW programmes.
Thousands of Youths were trained in entrepreneurship and Vocational artwork in a ground breaking partnership with the great entrepreneurs of note. The Agency for youth has a meaningful relationship with successful entrepreneurs as evident on the different vocational skills training through ARSOYOC, PLANET 3R, IBADAN INCUBATION HUB, DE’RAYO VOCATIONAL LIMITED, LOLA CARE FOR THE NEEDY, PROTAAN and several others.
The leadership of His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde also hosted the first of its kind issue Pool Champions League, where the winners bagged a huge amount as the prize.
In furtherance, Governor Makinde’s youth-driven administration revolves around
skills acquisition, digital skills, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship initiatives.
On Infrastructure Development, the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde has embarked on several road construction and rehabilitation projects across the State.
Adebowale praising Governor Makinde’s administration for taking full ownership of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), conversion of the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education into a full pledge University of Education, as well as recruitment of over 15,000 teaching and non-teaching staff into teaching service commission in the state.
The Governor feedback mechanism established has been effective in ensuring that the voices and concerns of citizens are heard and addressed.
Adebowale expressed gratitude to Governor Makinde for his visionary leadership and commitment to the welfare of Oyo State citizens, particularly the youth saying we are proud to be part of this administration, and we look forward to continued collaboration and progress in the years ahead. As the state continues to grow and develop, the youth remain at the forefront of the administration’s priorities. He concluded.
