As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate Children’s Day, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Federal House of Representatives hopeful for Ibadan North, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, has extended warm and heartfelt greetings to children in Ibadan North, Oyo State, and across the globe.
In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami described children as “the light of today and the hope of a brighter future,” while reaffirming his commitment to promoting policies and programs that will enhance the lives and wellbeing of young people.
“Children are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are the light of today,” he said.
“Their laughter gives life to our communities, and their dreams remind us of a future full of endless possibilities.
We owe them a society built on love, safety, inclusion, and opportunity.”
He called on parents, educators, leaders, and policymakers to work together in raising a generation that is confident, morally upright, and equipped for global excellence.
According to him, nurturing children with quality education, sound values, and emotional support is the key to building a prosperous nation.
“Let this day remind us that we must create a world where every child feels loved, safe, and empowered,” he added.
“Let’s continue to advocate for policies that give our children a fair chance at success and a strong foundation for the future.”
Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami concluded his message by encouraging children to keep dreaming and believing in their potential, assuring them of his unwavering support and belief in their greatness.
“To every child in Ibadan North, Oyo State, and across the world: You are special, you are powerful, and you are deeply loved. Happy Children’s Day! The future is yours and I believe in it,” he said.
