The Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development Prince Adebowale Falana, marked his first anniversary in office with a vibrant celebration held at the Local Government Service Commission Training Hall.

The event attracted praises and commendation from the Speaker of Oyo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, other dignitaries, youth leaders, and civil society organizations.

The event, themed “Beyond Talks and Rhetorics: Celebrating One Year of Youth-Focused Leadership In Oyo State Agency For Youth Development” highlighted a year of milestones under Falana’s leadership.

In his keynote address, the chairman presented a detailed report of the agency’s strides, including the successful implementation of vocational training programs, youth entrepreneurship grants, digital skill workshops, and the introduction of a youth-centered policy framework now being adopted for implementation under Omituntun 2.0.

“From Ibadan to Ogbomosho and Saki to Iseyin, we have empowered over thousands of youths with skills, tools, and access to funding.


 

“Our commitment remains to nurture a generation that leads, innovates, and transforms Oyo State.” Falana said.

Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, who served as the special guest of honour, lauded Falana’s vision and passion for youth empowerment.

“This administration’s agenda aligns strongly with youth development. Prince Falana has demonstrated that with focus and purpose, government agencies can deliver real impact,” the Speaker noted.

He assured that the state legislature under his leadership will continue to support policies and initiatives that engender inclusivity and encourage youths in governance.

Also in attendance were members of the state house of Assembly, local government chairmen, youth representatives, and development partners.

Several speakers took turns to commend the agency’s collaborative approach and inclusive policies.

Notably, the Chairman of a privately owned Radio station in Ibadan and stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Chief Olagoke Adegoke, cited the synergy between youth innovation and local economic growth under Falana’s leadership.

He commended his commitment and called the synergy “a model worth replicating.”

Highlights of the event was award ceremony recognizing notable personalities and outstanding youth beneficiaries of the Agency’s initiative.
