
The Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, has been applauded by the GSMists Ibadan NorthWest Coordinator, Olusegun C A Taiwo OCAT, for his strategic appointments across critical sectors, which has been made impactful and recorded a transformative year of governance in the state.
Reflecting on the governor’s strategic decisions made on May 17, 2024, OCAT described the appointments of key officials as a turning point for Oyo State’s development in health, youth empowerment, housing, and technical education.
The commendation follows the announcement and approval of various appointments conveyed by the Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
Among the appointments:
Dr. Akin Fagbemi, former chairman of the Oyo State Road Transport Maintenance Agency, was appointed chairman of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board.
Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo was named chairman of the Oyo State Youth Development Agency, reinforcing the state’s youth-focused agenda.
Deacon Adeoye Adekola assumed leadership of the Oyo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BOTAVED).
Hon. Ademola Omotosho, former Ibadan North LG chairman, now leads the Oyo State Housing Corporation.
Other key appointments include:
Alhaji Babalola Afobaje as chairman of the Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA),
Hon. Busari Olayemi, former federal lawmaker, as Executive Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs,
Hon. Seun Fakorede, former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, as Executive Adviser on Youth and Sports.
Additionally, Hon. Doshima Josephine Aneh was appointed Special Assistant on Inter-Governmental Affairs & Northern States Liaison, while the following individuals joined the Oyo State Community & Social Development Agency Board:
Mr. Hameed Shittu Adebayo, Mrs. Wunmi Funmi Odutayo, Mrs. Jadesola Olufunke Ajibola, and Mrs. Adebobola Ololade Agbeja.
In the housing sector, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, previously Special Adviser on Housing and Urban Development, was moved to the board of the Oyo State Housing Corporation as a representative of Oyo South. He is joined by Hon. (Barr.) Mojisola Adeyemi (Oyo Central) and Hon. (Revd.) Lizzie Adedoyin (Oyo North).
For infrastructure maintenance, Surveyor Adefabi F. Dasola (Oyo North) and Hon. Kafayat Olayiwola (Oyo South) were appointed to the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency Board.
