
In a bid to promote healthy living among the elderly, the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, is set to host a special fitness and wellness program tagged “Active Life for Senior Citizens.”
The initiative, which targets residents aged 50 years and above, will take place in Ibadan Southwest Local Government and is being organized in collaboration with Orayfit, a wellness and fitness outfit committed to promoting healthier lifestyles.
The program, scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., will feature a variety of engaging and beneficial activities, including:
- Free medical check-up
- Aerobics sessions
- Music and entertainment
- Networking opportunities
- Freebies for participants
According to Hon. Akinsete, the event is open to all senior citizens within the local government and aims to encourage regular physical activity, community bonding, and health awareness among older residents.
“This is part of our effort to ensure that our senior citizens live healthier, happier, and more connected lives.
It’s not just about fitness, it’s about dignity, inclusion, and proactive health care,” he said.
