In what many political observers see as a strategic and symbolic move, leading media entrepreneur and philanthropist, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, has paid a high-level courtesy visit to Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, as part of his ongoing consultations for the 2027 ambition.
The meeting, which took place at Olopoeyan’s Ibadan residence, was held behind closed doors but described by insiders as both warm and politically significant.
Oloye Adegoke, the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland and Chairman of Solutions 93.9 FM, used the opportunity to formally present his vision and plans to one of the most influential grassroots politicians in the state.
The visit underscores Adegoke’s deliberate approach to his ambition—building bridges across political divides, paying homage to respected elders, and reinforcing party unity ahead of the next election cycle.
In his brief remarks after the meeting, Oloye Adegoke expressed deep respect for Alhaji Olopoeyan, calling him “a fearless voice in Oyo politics and a true son of Ibadan who has always prioritized the welfare of the people.”
He further reiterated his commitment to inclusive leadership, youth empowerment, and consolidating the developmental legacy of Governor Seyi Makinde.
While Alhaji Olopoeyan has yet to publicly declare his endorsement, he commended Adegoke’s humility, consistency, and focus, describing the visit as “a step in the right direction.”
Political watchers see this visit as a crucial moment in the build-up to 2027, further solidifying Adegoke’s credentials as a serious contender within the PDP family.
