The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the umbrella body for socio-cultural societies of Ibadan origin, has set out to confer the prestigious title of ‘Ibadan Culture Ambassador’ on the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, on Monday, May 5, 2025.

The ceremony is set to take place at the Lagelu Local Government Secretariat in Iyana-Offa, Oyo State.

The conferment recognizes Kamorudeen’s outstanding contributions to the promotion and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of ibadanland, as well as his commitment to community development within Lagelu Local Government.

The CCII, known for its role in coordinating efforts to advance the economic, social, and cultural interests of Ibadanland, has a long tradition of honoring individuals who exemplify the values and traditions of the historic city.

The event is expected to draw prominent dignitaries, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and members of various socio-cultural groups affiliated with the CCII.

The ceremony, according to report, is expected to go solemnly on Monday— featuring tributes highlighting the Ibadanland vibrant heritage, with the conferment as the highlight of the day.
