The executive chairman of of Oluyole Local Government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, has expressed his birthday felicitations to his beloved wife, Yeye Asiwaju Oluyole, Hajia Balkis Olatunji, and former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu.
He described his wife as a pillar of strength, his best friend, and soulmate who has made his life journey seamless even amid the challenges.
While Hajia Balkis Olatunji celebrates her 40th birthday anniversary, Senator Sunmonu turns 66 years.
In his felicitation message on Tuesday, Olatunji also praised Senator Sunmonu for her unwavering dedication to public service and her enduring impact on the political landscape of Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
“I want to specially thank God for my wife and soulmate, Yeye Asiwaju Oluyole, Hajia Balkis Olatunji on this auspicious occasion of her 40th birthday. It gives me great sense of fulfillment to journey this path of life with such a great asset with whom I can face the challenges of world headlong.
“Words can never be adequate to describe how blessed I am to be gifted this inestimable treasure because she has made every single day of this journey seemed like the very first day of our love and shared vision for the future.

In his tribute to Senator Sunmonu, Olatunji said: “Today, I celebrate a woman of substance, a trailblazer in politics, and an inspiration to many of us.
“Senator Monsurat Sunmonu is not just a political heavyweight in Oyo state but also a role model who has demonstrated what it means to lead with integrity, compassion, and vision.
“Her legacy speaks volumes. As she adds another year today, I pray for her continued health, wisdom, and strength to keep making a difference in the lives of others.
“Every 9th of April is a special day that reminds us how blessed we are in Oyo state particularly in the PDP family to have Senator Sunmonu among us and it is with all sense of humility and pride that I join other well wishers within and outside Nigeria to celebrate this icon of leadership,” Olatunji said.
Senator Sunmonu, who made history as the first female Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and later represented Oyo Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, was also lauded for her continued advocacy for good governance and women empowerment.
The Chairman emphasized the significance of celebrating such his beloved wife and such distinguished figure as Senator Sunmonu, particularly as their contributions have left indelible marks on both grassroots and national development.
