Chief Babatunde Tijani, popularly known as “Double T,” a prominent political figure and leading stakeholder in Afenifere, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of two towering elder statesmen in Oyo State—Alhaji Yekini Adeojo and Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo.
Chief Tijani described their deaths as a colossal and devastating loss, not only to the people of Oyo State but to Nigeria as a whole, emphasizing that the vacuum created by their departure will not be easily filled.
“Alhaji Yekini Adeojo was more than a political icon; he was a father figure and a key architect in the foundation and growth of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State.
His unwavering belief in democracy, stability, and good governance made him a pillar in our political journey.
His counsel, courage, and commitment to unity will be sorely missed,” Chief Tijani stated.
He further described Dr. Omololu Olunloyo as a rare intellectual force whose contributions to academia, public policy, and governance remain unparalleled.
“Dr. Olunloyo was a brilliant mind, a mathematician of global repute, and a visionary public servant. His legacy in both education and politics stands tall and will continue to inspire generations to come,” he said.
Chief Tijani extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the Government of Oyo State under His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the people of the state. He prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Alhaji Adeojo Aljanah Firdaus and for God’s eternal peace to rest upon the soul of Dr. Olunloyo.
