
As part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and maintain peace in Ibarapa Central, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusola Adeleke today, March 28, 2025 convened a high-level Peace and Security Meeting to address the growing security concerns in the local government.
The meeting attended by all security agencies, traditional rulers and other key stakeholders, focused on pressing issues such as kidnapping, drug abuse among teenagers and the rise of cultism in secondary schools.
In statement made available by his personal assistant Azeez Sodiq Adesina while addressing the gathering, Hon.Adeleke challenged security outfits to take proactive steps and implement concrete solutions to combat these challenges. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and swift action as the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations approach, ensuring that residents can celebrate in a peaceful and secure environment.
> “Security is a shared responsibility and we must all rise to the occasion. As we prepare for Eid-el-Fitr, it is crucial that we intensify efforts to rid our communities of crime and all forms of insecurity. I urge our security agencies to take decisive action to protect the lives and property of our people,” he stated.
The meeting witnessed the participation of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), FRSC , the Nigeria Army, Amotekun, local vigilante groups, and other security networks all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring safety across Ibarapa Central.
Additionally, traditional rulers played a key role in the discussion, offering their insights and pledging their support towards maintaining peace within their respective communities.
Hon. Adeleke assured residents that his administration remains fully committed to security and community development, vowing to continue working closely with security agencies and stakeholders to create a safer and more prosperous environment for all.
With a renewed focus on strengthening security measures and fostering cooperation between government and community leaders, the resolutions from this meeting mark a significant step towards safeguarding the future of Ibarapa Central Local Government.
