The Chairman of Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has praised the lawmaker representing the good people of Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun Adekunle Agboworin for his tireless efforts in advocacy and combating drug abuse, particularly among young people.

Adebowale gave the commendation while addressing newsmen during the advocacy and sensitization to relevant Stakeholders tagged “Support the War against Drug Abuse for a better Society” organized by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in collaboration with the office of the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Narcotic Drugs, in Oyo State held at the Ibadan Civic Center, Idi-Ape.

This commendation highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the growing concern of substance abuse among youth leading to pathology and other excessive behaviors.

He further stated that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has been working tirelessly through the chairman House Committee on Narcotic Drugs to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking across all sectors of human endeavors in Nigeria.

While lauding the performing lawmaker and the agency, Hon. Adebowale Falana acknowledged the efforts of NDLEA which include providing free 24/7 psychosocial support and wellness services to those affected by substance abuse.

Similarly, Hon. Abass Adigun Adekunle Agboworin’s initiatives aim to educate and empower young people to make informed decisions about drug use in a timely for a better society while assuring him of total support from the state government led by His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde FNSE, DSSRS in providing State-of-the-art rehabilitation center in addressing the scourge of drug abuse in Pacesetter State.

Equally, the Chairman’s acknowledgment of Rep. Agboworin’s efforts serves as a call to action for relevant stakeholders to join forces in combating drug abuse.

By working together, they can create a safer and healthier environment for young people in Oyo State and beyond.

This sensitization and advocacy underscores the need for sustained efforts in drug education and prevention.
