
The Agbaakin of Olorunda-Abaa, Chief Benedict Akika, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the successful construction and expansion of the Akobo-Ojurin to Olorunda-Abaa Road.
The road project, which was carried out through the Oyo State Ministry of Public Roads and Transport of Prof D. K. Sangodoyin
Chief Akika, who is also the Mayegun of Akoboland, expressed his appreciation for the governor’s commitment to infrastructural development in the state. He lauded the administration the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Sen Qamardeen Mudashiru for his effort in assuring quality project that improve the lives of residents.
Additionally, he acknowledged the patience and resilience of the people of the area during the construction period.
According to him, “the understanding and cooperation of residents played a significant role in the successful execution of the project”, he stated.
Speaking on the impact of Governor Makinde’s leadership, Chief Akika, who is the founder of the Omituntun Benedict Foundation (OBF), celebrated the governor’s achievements over the past six years, noting that his administration has been marked by progress and good governance.
“With the road now nearing completion, residents and commuters are set to benefit from improved transportation, ease of movement, and economic growth in the area” he stated.
Chief Akika reaffirmed his support and that of his forum for Governor Makinde’s developmental strides and encouraged the government to continue prioritizing infrastructure projects that enhance the well-being of the people.
