The 2025 Oyo State Federation Cup came to a thrilling conclusion today at the Lekan Salami Adamasingba, with Shooting Stars Football Club emerging as champions. The Ibadan-based team defeated Crown Football Club in a keenly contested final match where the winner was decided with penalty shootout.

Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, was in attendance at the stadium and congratulated Shooting Stars on their victory. “I am thrilled to see the level of talent and dedication displayed by both teams,” she said. “Shooting Stars have shown remarkable skill and determination, and I congratulate them on their championship win.”

Commissioner Adegoke also saluted the resilience of Crown Football Club, who put up a good fight despite losing the match. “Crown FC has demonstrated remarkable spirit and sportsmanship, and I commend them for their efforts,” she said.

The 2025 Oyo State Federation Cup was a highly competitive tournament, featuring top teams from across the state. The championship win is a significant achievement for Shooting Stars, who will now represent Oyo State in the national Federation Cup competition.

The Oyo State Government has pledged to continue supporting sports development in the state, with a focus on grassroots programs and youth empowerment. Commissioner Adegoke emphasized the importance of sports in promoting unity, healthy living, and economic growth.
