A frontline political figure in Oyo State, Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi, has commended the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, describing him as a source of pride to the people of Oyo State, the diaspora, and the largest political party in Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Babanumi, a seasoned industrialist, politician, and founder of the Sunday Olusegun Babanumi Initiative (SOBI), praised Makinde’s governance style, particularly his commitment to sustainable development and the welfare of pensioners and active civil servants in the state.

According to Babanumi, the governor’s pragmatic leadership and welfarist policies have set a new standard in governance, ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.

“Governor Makinde is not just leading Oyo State; he is setting a benchmark for progressive governance in Nigeria.

His dedication to workers’ welfare and pensioners’ well-being has redefined governance in Oyo State,” he said.

Makinde, who also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, has continued to implement policies aimed at improving infrastructure, security, healthcare, education, and economic expansion, with a strong emphasis on workers’ welfare.

His administration has been widely praised for ensuring the prompt payment of salaries, pensions, and other benefits, thereby boosting the morale of civil servants.

Babanumi, who is aspiring to represent Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027, reiterated his support for Makinde’s leadership and expressed confidence in the PDP’s continued dominance in Oyo State.

“Governor Makinde has shown that good governance is not about rhetoric but action.

His achievements speak for themselves, and we are proud of his leadership,” he added.

Babanumi, a former aspirant for the Chairmanship of Ibadan North-West Local Government, has been a strong advocate for grassroots development and humanitarian initiatives through his foundation, SOBI.

He assured the people of his commitment to quality representation and development-driven leadership.
