In a heartfelt statement, Oloye Adegboyega Adegoke, a prominent leader and the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, has expressed his deep condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde, Executive Governor of Oyo State and Barrister Muyiwa Makinde, the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, following a significant loss of their elder brother, Engr Sunday Makinde.
Describing the event as “an esteemed loss to Ibadanland and Oyo State,” Oloye Adegoke acknowledged the profound impact of the departure of a revered figure on the state’s socio-cultural and political landscape. “The demise of this distinguished personality is a monumental loss, not just to Ibadanland but to Oyo State as a whole,” Oloye Adegoke remarked.
Oloye Adegoke extended his sympathies to Governor Makinde, whose leadership has been instrumental in advancing Oyo State, and to Barr. Muyiwa Makinde, whose position as the Bada Olubadan signifies a pivotal role in preserving and promoting Ibadan’s cultural heritage.
He further called on the people of Oyo State to unite in mourning and honor the legacy of the departed. “This is a time for reflection, for unity, and for drawing strength from our shared values as a community,” he said. “We must continue to work together to uphold the legacy of greatness that has been left behind.”
