Prevalent Bisexuality trend in Nigeria is witnesing brutal attack from religious sect. You can’t separate people from their cultural and religious beliefs despite modernisation.
It was unfortunate that one life was lost in an attack that happened at a popular hospital (Name witheld) in Monatan area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital on 1st day of December, 2024.
According to the information garnered by our correspondent; the first attack was on 29th November , 2024 at a popular Guest house at Bashorun area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State in Nigeria.
According to an eye witness around Bashorun area, near the Guest House; two male guest at the Guest House was caught by the management involving in sexual act.
The Manager of the guest house though it was another ritualist at work when he was alerted by one of the hotel waitress.
The victims identity are Mr Tobi Oloruntoba and Ojo Olanrewaju Adesola. We learnt they were beaten blue black by the residence before the arrival of the police.
As luck was not on their side, on 1st December, 2024, the Islamic sect (Tabligh Group) around the neighborhood of the Guest House at Bashorun were involved.
We learnt this Islamic sect mobilized their Men to attack the Hospital the victims were taking to by the Police for proper medical attention before prosecution.
As at the time of filling this report, the were about of one of the victims is yet unknown but Tobi’s corpse was later found in a nearby uncompleted building not too far from the base of this Islamic sect.
It is an established fact that LGBTQ is a criminal offence in Nigeria.
The Police District Crime Officer (DPO) of Divisional Police Station at Monatan told our reporter that Mr Ojo Olanrewaju’s where about is unknown after the attack. And he has been declared wanted by the Police.
He expressed further that, the law of the land will take it’s course as no one is above the law.
Conversely, he opined that jungle justice is never the answer and not condonable.
That the attacker of the hospital will be arrested and prosecuted for murder as no culture nor religion is licensed / permitted to commit crime.
The questions that comes to mind is the fact that how did bisexuality crept in to our culture (way of life)?
Is this pain or burden that come with modernisation/ civilization?
