In preparation for the upcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election, top members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Federal constituency have distributed millions of naira to their members.
This event took place during their weekly local government meeting held yesterday at Yemetu, Ibadan, with an impressive turnout of party members.
The meeting saw the presence of Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, who led the PDP bigwigs.
In his address, Hon. Olufade expressed his delight at the massive turnout and urged members to maintain the momentum until the election day.
He emphasized the importance of unity and active campaigning in their respective areas to ensure a PDP victory, which he assured would bring more dividends to the constituency.
Notable attendees included Hon. Olufunke Comforter and Hon. Babajide Gabriel, Oyo State House of Assembly members representing Ibadan North Constituency 1 and 2, respectively.
Hon. Gabriel, known as the Jagaban of the 9th and 10th Assemblies, thanked God for the opportunity to serve and appreciated all leaders, party executives, and members present.
He urged the members to support the party’s chosen candidate and avoid anti-party activities, contributing thousands of naira to support their efforts.
Hon. Comforter confidently declared that it is PDP’s turn to represent Ibadan North Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
She called for unity among members, leaders, and executives to achieve the goal of winning the election and donated thousands of naira to the cause.
Hon. Dada Awoleye, a former House of Representatives member who recently returned from his assignment as the caretaker chairman of PDP in Ogun State, also addressed the gathering.
He encouraged members to work towards the ultimate goal of winning the bye-election, highlighting the numerous opportunities available at the federal level.
Hon. Awoleye donated 2 million naira to support party members, leaders, and executives.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Youth Development Agency, Hon. Adebowale Falana, echoed the sentiment of unity and hard work. He reflected on the party’s strong structure in Oyo State and expressed confidence in a PDP victory in the bye-election, contributing thousands of naira to the effort.
Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON), urged party members to remain united and work diligently for a PDP win, donating a million naira.
Hon. Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, the Sole Administrator of Shooting Stars Football Club, expressed his joy at the turnout and urged members to maintain their momentum, also contributing thousands of naira.
The Secretary of Ibadan North Local Government and political head of Irepodun LCDA, Hon. Oluwafemi Bantu, emphasized the importance of victory and donated thousands of naira.
Hon. Michael Ogunsina, the Youth Leader of Oyo State PDP and Acting Publicity Secretary, described the bye-election as a must-win and highlighted the party’s coordination and impact in Oyo State, urging concerted efforts for a PDP victory.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with party members, leaders, and executives leaving with substantial financial support, ready to work towards a successful bye-election for the PDP.
