On Monday, as the clock struck midnight, I stepped into another year of life, and with it, a flurry of warm wishes and heartfelt prayers flooded my digital and physical spaces.

To everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to acknowledge my special day, I extend my deepest gratitude.

From traditional and religious leaders in Oyo state and beyond, to political voices, friends, family members, students, and staff of Attaofeequ Billahi International School, Ibadan, and even distant associates, your kind words and thoughtful gestures mean so much to me.

When I was actually basking in the warmth of the several goodwill on Tuesday , I feel compelled to reflect on the larger spectrum of life.

The day served a somewhat different purpose, it was a moving reminder of the world we all inhabit – a world where countless individuals live unequal lives and yearn for better tomorrows.

As Martin Luther King Jr. so eloquently put it, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?'” This question sits deeply within me, and it reminds me that our individual pursuits must be balanced with a commitment to uplifting others.

In fact, this reflection has inspired me to extend a gesture of kindness to my alma mater, where my team distributed books to students – I see this as a small act that I hope will contribute to a larger narrative of inspiring the young lads that benefitted.

This introspective moment again reminds me of the inspirational influence of what collective action can translate to. Our country, Oyo state, and indeed our world, can be a embodiment and symbol of encouragement, and truly serve the people through intentional political choices and decisions.

It’s a vision I’ve committed myself to, and one that I invite everyone to join me in. With a sense of collectivism, we can build a world gradually, create something that affords everyone, every individual, irrespective of class or culture, has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

A future that has premium for every voice, every dream, and every life.

I actually look forward to a life where our collective purpose is justified – where compassion, love, and good conscience brings us all together for a uniform purpose.

A life where we can boastfully live as we desire, celebrate our milestones with loved ones, and cherish the beauty of human connection and humanity generally.

To everyone who has walked with me on this journey, I offer my heartfelt thanks once more. Your presence in my life is an affirmation to what love means, and I’m honoured to share this path with you.

As Desmond Tutu wisely said, “We are made for togetherness. We are made for friendship.

We are made for community.” May we continue to encourage this spirit of togetherness, and sustain for ourselves a world where every individual can thrive and feel so fulfilled. Thank you all so much.
