The GSM Advocates, one of the most prominent groups committed to propagating the achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, have sent a clear message to political aspirants, party stakeholders, leaders, and youths across Oyo State.

The group warned against intra-party politicking that could tarnish the party’s image, urging everyone to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Makinde.

The group’s call came during a strategic meeting held at the Oluyole Council Secretariat, Idi-Ayunre. The Coordinator of the GSM Advocates, Bashorun Saint Abbey, underscored the governor’s numerous achievements and praised the dedication of members within the group, particularly highlighting the leadership of Engr. Akeem Olatunji, the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government.

In his address, Engr. Akeem Olatunji recounted the various political battles he has fought and won, as well as some he has lost.

He emphasized the importance of the GSM Advocates remaining united and focused on its core mission of promoting the ideals and accomplishments of the Makinde administration.

Olatunji reiterated that no other group in the state or beyond can rival the media presence and influence of the GSM Advocates when it comes to political advocacy.

The council Mayor, who is an ally of Otunba Seye Famojuro and the State Secretary Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, admonished aspirants to strengthen the party structure rather than engage in personal ambition, which may lead to nowhere.

The party and the good people of Oyo State are looking up to Governor Seyi Makinde for his God-anointed candidate.

He further highlighted that the PDP in Oyo State has consistently shown exemplary leadership at both state and national levels, which has been instrumental in fostering development.

Olatunji described the party as the most resilient and people-focused political organization in Nigeria, with leaders like Governor Makinde steering it towards unprecedented growth and success.

Declaring his unwavering loyalty, Engr. Olatunji said, “The only political movement I believe in is that of Governor Seyi Makinde.

Wherever the governor leads, I will follow.” He added that, despite Governor Makinde being in his second term, he would do everything within his power to support the governor should another service opportunity arise.

He encouraged the group to prepare for the next phase of their work, as more tasks are on the horizon.

Engr. Olatunji, who has been recognized as one of the best performing local government chairmen in Nigeria, encouraged all members to return to the founding ideals of the GSM Advocates, utilizing their experience to better project and propagate the governor’s legacy.

In his remarks, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Administration, urged the group to abandon the mentality of self-entitlement and instead reposition themselves for a greater call to service.

He highlighted the need for unity and collective responsibility, calling on members to contribute their unique talents for the advancement of the state.

Engr. Akeem Olatunji was honored with a special award for his exceptional contributions to local government, serving as a model for grassroots development.

The gathering, attended by many members of the GSM Advocates, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to bolstering Governor Makinde’s administration and supporting his future ambitions.

The event reinvigorated the group’s enthusiasm and determination to continue working for the progress of Oyo State under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
