The Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Offa-meta, Oyo State, Hon Wahab Waliu Adetunji, WABKEM, has sued for peace and unity as Nigeria celebrates her 64th year of independence.
Hon Adetunji made this appeal in his independence speech to mark Nigeria’s independence anniversary, a note that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of rancor and disunity.
According to him, considering the situation in the country at present, the only panacea to the problem at hand is for all hands to be on deck by having unity of purpose and then work together to get the nation out the of woods.
The council chair described the country as a great nation with potential. He therefore assured the people of a better tomorrow saying Nigeria will surely rise again.
While appreciating Nigerians for their resilience and endurance, he charged everyone to ensure that the interest of the nation comes first in whatever decisions and actions they take emphasizing the fact that together we can make it happen.
WABKEM reminded the people that in unity lies our strength and therefore enjoins the good people of Oyo State to sustain their cooperation with Engr. Seyi Makinde’s transformational agenda in the Pacesetter State in the areas of education, agriculture, infrastructure, economy and security to our dear state the first among equals.
