Chief Benedict Akika, renowned philanthropist and founder of Omituntun Benedict Foundation has made his first public appearance after his abduction, thanking distinguished personalities for their support.

At a monthly meeting of the Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF) held at Akinyele/Lagelu local governments respectively, Chief Akika expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, Otunba Joseph Adeseye Famojuro, Alhaji Lekan Salawudeen, political appointees, Oyo Assembly Speaker Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin and members of Oyo State House of Assembly whereas Hon Sikiru Sanda-led 33 Local Government Chairmen, security agencies; Commissioner of Police, Nigeria Army, DSS, NSCDC Amotekun and media in Oyo State.

“For your unwavering support, prayers, and efforts in securing my release,” Chief Akika said.

He described his ordeal as “challenging” but praised the swift response of security agencies and well-wishers.

“I am grateful to be reunited with my family and loved ones while I sincerely extend my appreciation to my wife, Chief (Mrs) Bidemi Akika for her belief in God, patience, oratee and understanding,” Chief Akika added.

He furthermore appreciated the executives, elders and members of Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF) across Oyo State, The Great Fellow Club, Nigeria Hairdresser/Beautician Association Oyo State, Ibadan Vanguard Sister in extension to Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and all community and religious leaders across the nation for their prayers and support.

The AgbaAkin of Olorunda-Aba also expressed his gratitude to the Ololorunda of Olorunda-Abaa, Oba Samuel Abiodun Folarin, for his selfless efforts in the safe release.

The Chieftain, Mayegun Akika didn’t forget to appreciate the People’s Democratic Party ranging from the State Executives, Local Government and Wards whereas every member in Oyo State.

His statement partly reads:

“Your generosity helped secure my safe release and brought comfort to my family. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

“Thank you for being a blessing to me.

“Heavenly Father continues to bless and prosper you, and reward your kindness abundantly …. AMEN
