Ibadan North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, warmly received the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Oyo State Command, Comptroller AD Jimoh PCCT, at the council office in Agodi, Ibadan.
This visit followed Hon. Olufade’s earlier courtesy visit to the NIS Oyo State Command in August.
During the meeting, Hon. Olufade expressed his gratitude to Comptroller Jimoh for honoring his promise to reciprocate the visit.
He praised the Comptroller for his proactive support and the ongoing collaboration between the council and the NIS.
Hon. Olufade highlighted specific instances where Comptroller Jimoh’s intervention had resolved long-standing issues for local residents, emphasizing the importance of this partnership in ensuring efficient services.
In his remarks, Comptroller Jimoh commended Hon. Olufade for his respectfulness and intelligence, qualities he believes will lead the chairman to greater achievements.
He reiterated the NIS’s unwavering support for the council and conveyed greetings from the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Comptroller Jimoh also advised the council to maintain stringent procedures for issuing certificates of origin to maximize revenue.
The Nigeria Immigration Service Oyo State Command used the occasion to announce improvements in passport processing, assuring that delays are now a thing of the past. Applicants can now apply for passports online and receive them promptly.
The new fees for passport processing were also highlighted: ₦50,000 for a 32-page passport and ₦100,000 for a 64-page passport.
Hon. Olufade thanked Comptroller Jimoh PCCT for the visit and the continued support.
The Comptroller was accompanied by senior officers, including DCI M.A. Omotoyinbo, DCI B.O. Ehizibie, ACI A.O. Adeoye, and other officials.
