Yesterday, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, a PDP Federal House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the last general election, attended the weekly local government party meeting at Yemetu, Ibadan, and generously splashed cash on the party members.
Accompanied by the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, Salami first visited the youth meeting and encouraged them for their active participation.
Salami expressed his happiness to join them in the meeting and implored them to continue their massive support for Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade.
Before leaving the youth meeting, he donated ₦100,000 for their refreshment.
Continuing his visit, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami and the Chairman joined the women’s wing during their pre-meeting. Salami danced with the women, thanked them for their warm reception, and also gave them ₦100,000 for refreshment.
Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, along with Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, attended the general meeting, where party members expressed their joy at receiving both leaders.
In his address, Chairman Olufade thanked the members for their large turnout despite the downpour.
He reminded them of his commitment to attending meetings and fulfilling his pledges.
He assured the members that his administration would prioritize their welfare and that of all Ibadan North residents.
He outlined some of his plans, including implementing health insurance for the people of Ibadan North and emphasizing that the distribution of solar security lights to all twelve wards is for better illumination of the local government area. He promised more developmental projects.
In his speech, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami appreciated the members for their consistent show of love, acknowledging their dedication despite the hardship in the country.
To show his appreciation, he gave ₦240,000 to the 12 wards, with each ward receiving ₦20,000, and ₦50,000 to the local government party executives for their refreshment.
Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami urged all members to support whoever the party nominates as the flag bearer in the forthcoming Federal House of Representatives by-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
He thanked the party and promised to remain an ardent member of the People’s Democratic Party.
The meeting was graced by the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Kamorudeen Mudashiru, who also gifted the party members ₦50,000
