Augustine Eguavoen has stepped down as the interim coach of the Super Eagles, populist news has learned.
Eguavoen stated that his mandate was limited to two games, which he has now completed.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical director took on the interim role after the federation’s efforts to secure a permanent head coach for the national team proved unsuccessful.
During his brief tenure, Eguavoen led the Super Eagles in two critical 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The Nigerian senior men’s team achieved a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic, followed by a goalless draw with Rwanda on Tuesday.
