Uniplan Integrated Services Limited and the Kunle Awotiku Foundation have successfully executed a substantial youth empowerment initiative in Ibadan, as part of the annual Youth Day/Week celebration.

The program, held at Oremeji, Mokola, drew hundreds of young participants, all eager to acquire new skills and secure a brighter future.

The event was designed to provide practical training across a wide range of disciplines, offering the youth opportunities to learn and grow in areas critical to their personal and professional development.

The empowerment program featured intensive training sessions in various fields, including Content Creation, Public Speaking, Catering, Music (Keyboard and Guitar), Web Design, Graphics Design, Resin Arts/Bead Making, Make-up and Gele Tying, German Language, Data Analysis, and Photography.

The initiative also paid special attention to the younger generation, incorporating dedicated sessions for children to ensure that they, too, could benefit from the program’s resources and opportunities.

Dr. Kunle Awotiku, the CEO of Uniplan Integrated Services and Founder of the Kunle Awotiku Foundation, emphasized the crucial role of skill acquisition in combating poverty.

During his address to the participants, he remarked, “Skills are the surest way to kill poverty.”

Dr. Awotiku urged the youth to persist in honing their talents, noting that such empowerment initiatives are vital for aspiring professionals who wish to excel in their chosen fields.

He further highlighted the foundation’s commitment to supporting young people in their quest for self-improvement and financial independence.

The event also garnered the support and presence of prominent figures in the region.

Among them was Adebowale Falana, the Chairman of the Oyo State Youth Development Agency.

Adebowale Falana, who addressed the trainees during the event, lauded the efforts of Uniplan Integrated Services Limited and Dr. Kunle Awotiku for orchestrating the empowerment program as part of the International Youth Week celebrations.

He pointed out that such initiatives are not just beneficial but essential for fostering youth development and ensuring that young people in the region are equipped with the skills necessary to thrive in a competitive world.

Participants expressed their gratitude for the knowledge and skills they had acquired, while the organizers reflected on the success of the event.

There was a shared hope that this initiative would not only impact the lives of the youth in Ibadan but also inspire continued efforts towards youth empowerment across the state and beyond.

The event underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges facing young people today, and it set a precedent for future programs aimed at nurturing the potential of the next generation.
