The Oyo South PDP senatorial candidate in the 2023 general election, Mogaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu.

Reflecting on the legacy of the late APC Chairman, Tegbe praised his unwavering dedication to uniting and strengthening the opposition party.

His message reads:

“I am shocked by the untimely death of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Chief Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, which occurred at a time when Oyo State is still recovering from the loss of Prince Musiliu Akinremi, also of the opposition APC.

Chief Omodewu was a dedicated party leader who was unwavering in his efforts to unite and expand the ranks of the opposition APC. He did all within his power until the frailty of human nature and mortality permitted him no more.

Since we met during the administration of the late Abiola Ajimobi, I have known him as a decent individual who served the state passionately as a commissioner across various ministries. Despite our recent political differences, he remained a cordial associate until his sad demise.

The death of Chief Omodewu reminds us of our mortality and reiterates the ephemeral nature of human life, highlighting the need to be upright and compassionate, as we all have a date with death.

It is my prayer that Almighty God grants him eternal rest and comforts those he left behind, especially his aged mother, his wife and children, his close relatives, the Otu community, and the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State.”
