Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, the board member of the Oyo State Housing Corporation representing Oyo South Senatorial District, has extended a cordial invitation to all members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, particularly those in Ibadan south West, and the general public to attend his official defection ceremony.
Hon. Akinsete Olakunle popularly known as ‘Shete’, will be leaving the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to officially join the PDP.
The defection event is set to take place at UMC, Molete, Ibadan, on 31st July 2024, at 3:00 PM.
Hon. Shete is expected to be accompanied by hundreds of his followers, showcasing his full commitment to the PDP.
In his statement, Hon. Shete emphasized his dedication to the PDP and his readiness to work for the party’s progress in Ibadan South West, his primary constituency, as well as in the Oyo South Senatorial District, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.
Hon. Shete praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his effective governance, which he believes has significantly increased the appeal of the PDP.
He highlighted Governor Makinde’s inclusive approach as a key factor in his decision, stating that the governor’s leadership style is both top-notch and convincing, making the PDP a party that everyone would want to be a part of.
The public and all PDP members are encouraged to attend this significant event to witness Hon. Shete’s formal transition to the PDP and to support the ongoing efforts for the party’s growth and success in the region.
