Ibadan North Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, attended the Hijira 1446 celebrations organized by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, at the Oyo State Government House.
In high spirits, Hon. Olufade, the chairman of the local government that hosts the government house, expressed his delight at attending the event.
The celebration saw the presence of Oyo State’s number one citizen, Governor Seyi Makinde; Deputy Governor, Barrister AbdulRaheem Adebayo Lawal; and Oyo State Speaker, Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, along with numerous political bigwigs, Islamic clerics, and traditional rulers.
Hon. Olufade praised Governor Makinde for his inclusive approach and his respect for all religions.
“The governor’s love for all and his consistent support for every religion is truly commendable,” he said.
He prayed for continued unity and peace in Oyo State, hoping for more occasions to celebrate together regardless of religious differences.
“May we always have reasons to celebrate together, irrespective of our different religions,” he said.
“May Oyo State continue to be peaceful, and may we celebrate many more Hijiras on this earth.”
