Oyo State Youth Empowerment Program, a flagship initiative of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, has come to a grand close. The program, aimed at equipping young people with technopreneurial skills and empowering them to become drivers of economic growth, has been a resounding success.

Over the past few weeks across the five zones of Oyo State , participants have undergone rigorous training and mentorship, honing their skills in various areas of technopreneurship. The program’s grand finale, held on July 20th, 2024 in NYSC Orientation Camp Iseyin, brought together participants, dignitaries, and stakeholders to celebrate the achievements of the young technopreneurs.

The program’s impact is already being felt, with many participants showcasing innovative projects and business ideas. The start-up packs, to be distributed by the governor, will further equip them to turn their ideas into reality.

At the closing ceremony of the training exercise, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Ms. Wasilat Adegoke, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering commitment to the youth of Oyo State. She praised his visionary leadership and “large heart” for investing in the development of young people.

Ms. Adegoke emphasized that the Oyo Youth Empowerment Program will have a profound impact on the state’s future, fostering significant growth in human capital and economic empowerment. She highlighted that programs like this will remain crucial in shaping the state’s future and unlocking the potential of its youth.
