Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, the Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government Offa-meta, Oyo, on Tuesday called for fairness and transparency in the distribution of federal government palliatives intended for vulnerable individuals in the Royal Council.
The council boss made this statement during the inauguration of a 15-member committee on the distribution of federal government palliatives.
He tasked the committee with overseeing the distribution of the palliatives to ensure they reach the most vulnerable individuals at the grassroots level, being the closest government to the people.
Wabkem reiterated that the directive to constitute and inaugurate the committee came from proper instructions by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that the palliatives are distributed evenly across the most vulnerable households to avoid any disparities.
The palliatives include grains (maize) and garri. He assured proper monitoring to ensure the palliatives are distributed accordingly.
