In a robust effort to address risks that may lead to material misstatements and improve service delivery, the Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, has conducted a comprehensive staff audit.

This audit aims to ensure optimal resource allocation, streamline processes, reduce waste, identify ghost workers, and maximize productivity.

The event took place at the local government legislative chamber on Tuesday.

Leading the comprehensive audit were the Political Head of Sooro Local Council Development, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide; the Chief of Staff to Atiba Local Government, Alhaji Hon. Babalola Saheed; the Leader of the House, Atiba Legislative, Hon. Kayode Ademola; the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Peter Oladeji; and directors across various departments.

According to the Council Boss, the audit will help identify and remove bureaucratic bottlenecks in a renewed effort to improve the Royal Council’s business environment and economy.

He stressed that it would also ensure staff accountability in their daily activities.

“Our audit process is fully integrated with current technology.

Our staff have access to detailed guidance suited to their level of experience, enabling them to compete with current trends and perform productively in line with professional ethics,” he stated.

In a special conversation with newsmen shortly after the exercise, Sooro Political Head Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide reaffirmed that the audit has been a thorough, eye-opening process, helping restore progressive policies and timelines.

He commended the audit team for their diligence and hard work, noting that the exercise will undoubtedly lead to improved efficiency and productivity.

“This exercise shows that by conducting regular staff audits, organizations can ensure they are operating optimally, making the most of their resources, and providing a solid foundation for growth and success,” he added.

The Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Alhaji Babalola Saheed, lauded the staff in each department and agency for their professional expertise, particularly the Ad-hoc Staff for their compliance, effectiveness, and hard work in improving the socio-economic activities of the Royal Council.

“We’ve discovered areas that need improvement to ensure that workers operate optimally with positive emotions towards efficient service delivery,” he said.

Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji acknowledged that the audit process involves engaging with employees through interviews, performance evaluations, and job responsibility reviews.

The aim is to ensure that staff members align with the goals and objectives of the local government in the spirit of accountability, transparency, and excellence.

He praised the support of all career officers in the Royal Council, particularly the Atiba chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), for their cooperation throughout the exercise.

The audit highlights the Chairman’s emphasis on efficient service delivery and his commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in the local government.
